I received a letter in my post box yesterday that I opened by chance. I never receive any important documents via snail mail as I request everything by email. I see that it was a PRE-LEGAL letter from ITC for an outstanding billing from Lancet.
I looked up the reference this morning and I see there was a statement sent in February this year. I missed this and did not pay it. But I did receive 3 other statements (about 2 days apart(, which I DID pay. So it was a simple case of missing a single invoice. To date I have received ZERO correspondence from Lancet. No email, sms, or phone call following up on this outstanding amount of a measly R400 odd.
Instead, Lancet prefers to pass you on to ITC for a more SHOCK tactic in order to recover the funds. If I had missed that snail letter, I would have easily been put onto ITC which would have affected by credit rating.
Speaking to colleagues and friends, this seems to be the MO. for lancet. Its absolutely ridiculous.
I absolutely LOATH lancet for your bullying tactics.
