Why must I pay for your mistakes?

My wife and I belong to different medical schemes. She gave birth to twins on the 17th June 2013 at the George Medi-Clinic. About 2 weeks after their birth the twins were put on my medical scheme. All payments went well at first until from about Nov 2013 the accounts department sent us bills that were outstanding. The obvious question was why? At first we left it alone thinking that it will sort itself out, until we received a 'court action imminent' letter from the bad debt depart. My wife called them talked to Zoraya Ismail who confirmed our fear that the last few accounts were put on my medical scheme too late, only by October 2013. The result being that the Scheme now don't want to pay these accounts. Zoraya admitted it was Pathcare's mistake but that she could'nt do anything about it. Thus my question, why must I pay for Pathcare's admin mistakes?
