My galaxy tab was given in at Smart lab umhlanga Ridge branch end of April, after i had obtained a on-line quote which seemed reasonable with the understanding that the quote could differ once assessed and i would be contacted and quoted. According to Smartlab terms and conditions should the repair be R 300 or less, the repair will be carried out regardless. Last week i was contacted by the Smartlab branch Umhlanga and told my unit has been repaired and ready for collection. I asked whats the final bill and was told R 3200.00. I asked the lady to explain as i was never quoted or contacted by Smartlab or for that matter i never authorised this work to be carried out on my device. Her very simple reply was that they will send it back to Cape Town and remove there part and put my parts back. I advised the lady under no circumstances do i give them permission to send my device back to Cape Town. This was totally ignored and was sent. I went as far as contacting one of the directors of SmartLab who wasnt sympathetic to my complaint. I will not except the device back now after it was taken apart without my consent and will be claiming damages. Very unprofessional company.
