Convection oven

I bought a Salton convection oven some years ago and use it regularly and is very satisfied with the product. Unfortunately, I cannot clean the top of the lid because, as you wipe you take all the writing on the lid. It is very inconvenient because you lose the temperature and the time when you cook.

I really hope that you will be able to help me with this problem as really like and use the oven daily.
