I purchased a HD PRV from Makro Germiston, together with an installation voucher for Blingstallation which cost R1200.00. On Wednesday 16th January one of these installation teams came. After surveying the job I was told that it would cost approximately an additional R1700.00. I accepted this and signed their 'quotation'. When they were ready to leave I was told that the cost amounted to R2700.00 plus I was that they hadn't actually finished (they still had to 'tune in' the granny flat) but had to go to another call. I was informed to phone and book another call out with their office.
A week later - on Thursday 24th January, another team arrived. After completeing the job I was told to pay in another R1200.00. Everything appeared to be working correctly - for about 20 hours - at which time we lost DSTV on all our televisions. I phoned Blinstallation to complain and was told that they would not be able to come out until Monday. Since then they have been out twice (28/01 and 29/01) - each time our dstv works for a few hours and then bombs out. I have contacted Multichoice and am informed that it is an installation problem. Pleasant guys but R5100.00 later and no DSTV!!!
