As stated, I was a LLB student at NMMU from 2010 until 2012 in which I completed 18 subjects - (please refer to my first attachment which is my application form for exemption as submitted to the UNISA offices in Pretoria on the 13th of May 2013. I decided to move my studies to UNISA as I was no longer able to afford the subjects at NMMU, which cost double the amount per subject, than at UNISA.I went through the whole process of finding out how to apply for exemptions, that it will take a maximum time of 3 months to process my exemption application, and that I will not be able to apply for exemptions for more than half the modules of my degree. I had paid R500.00 to obtain a syllabus from NMMU to send through with my application.
After 6 months, I received the email from UNISA stating that I have only been exempted for 9 subjects out of the 18 that I had applied for. Therefore I had not been credited for more than a years modules that I had completed at NMMU. It was the biggest disappointment in my life to realize that a years hard work studying and attending classes at NMMU had now simply not been recognised by UNISA. Even more so that R20 000.00 university fees NOW WASTED
