Dear Sir / Madam,
I was employed at a Bosch Car service outlet in the Westrand from 2005-2010.
For the above named period (5 years) I paid Merseta weekly (as per payslip) and never was sent for any skills update training etc. as needed between the 4-5 years of apprenticeship.
When I phoned Merseta expressing my concern at that time; to tell your consultants that I have not been sent by Bosch through Merseta for any training nor my trade test qualification; I was advised that Merseta cannot "force" an employer to sent an employee for his/her tradetest.
As a result I paid privately to obtain my red seal certificate as an Auto Electrician. I recently realised that a Section 13 qualification is seen as best. I now have a Section 28 due to no help from Bosch Car Service or Merseta.
Due to the above, I would like to know how I can claim a full pay-out of balance paid to Merseta for those 5 years as I never received any assistance in obtaining my Trade.
