I had contacted the Carpentry Shoppe to build and install a custom bookshelf in December 2012. Jan thereafter sent through a quote and he became quite aggressive about getting the deposit paid into his account. He cited that the need to procure the materials quickly and hence needed the money immediately.
I had paid the deposit, but Jan reneged four times on each scheduled date. He produced trivial excuses that the supplier had stopped production or that his car was and that his lawyer would contact all his clients to remedy the situation.
Jan paid a fraction of my deposit back and I hitherto I have not received the remainder. I urge people to please be aware of Jan and Sharon Buitendag. If they do, indeed, have many companies then please protect yourself, by asking about the owners, or ask for a recommendation or referral from previous clients. It is amazing that people like Jan and Sharon continue to keep their business open and are still soliciting innocent clients for their money without delivery of service.
