Hardrock Drilling
INFERIOR INSTALLATION of BOREHOLE EQUIPMENT

1. Hard Rock Drilling installed the borehole in April 2011 - started use late 2011
2. Water was found at 19m although they drilled to 43m and installed motor on 41m
3. We have some problems with sand in the water and installed a filter
4. In Jan 2013, the motor stopped
5. We found that it was installed in the mud at the bottom - with no circulation around the pump's motor which caused it to strain and burn out.
6. This depth of drilling was unnecessary especially as the motor was fitted at 41 meters.
7. The pump worked for less than 18 months twice a week on a 4 station irrigation system.
8. We believe the installation was incorrect or this was a sub-standard or second hand pump (dated 2010) for it to have corroded within 18 months.
9. The fact that the motor was so worn after such a short period of usage is evidence that the installation was incorrect from day 1
10. We further found that the motor was not compatible with the pump. It should have been, 56kw for the size of the pump fitted which results in excessive use of electricity.
11. We contacted Hardrock to respond and rectify
12. They denied all our findings and refused to take any responsibility for the installation
