I purchased a Ryobi combo weed eater and lawn mower (electric) at their opening special for about R650.
The lawnmower was used once and seized. I returned it within the 30 day returns period and was told that they can't refund me or replace the lawnmower until a Ryobi agent has had a look at it. This would mean that I would have to drive back to Builders on another day as I went there on a Sunday, and according to them, Ryobi doesn't operate on a Sunday. The implication of this is that I would have to spend in total about R300 on petrol running after this low value item (approx 650). I took it up with the store manager who promised to have the item delivered to my house once they get a replacement. I was also told that I would receive a phone call on Monday 21 Oct 2013 and get an explanation of what was going to happen next. It's Wednesday 23 Oct 2013 now and I still haven't heard from them. I feel like i'm being messed around.
