Entered the store in Strand at around 13;15 on Friday 19th July, two white men sitting at their desks, one black man on the shop floor. No greeting or acknowledgement from the two seated men. Shop floor assistant approaches and greets in the vernacular and continues to speak in Xhosa. I advise him that my language is English. he goes quiet, I advise him what I'm looking for and it appears he is struggling to understand me. I proceed to look around myself, reading labels. Ask him a few questions which he battles to understand or answer. One final question and he decides to call one of the white men.

White man approaches, does not greet, no smile, stern look. I ask him my question. His body language immediately puts me off. I throw another question and his response and tone throws me over the edge and I say good bye and walk out.

In my view, because they sell a relatively premium product, the assumption is that certain types of clients cannot afford the products and are merely wasting their time. Well, for any companies out there that sell closed combustion fireplaces, ovens etc. I'm in the market for a good one as I'm renovating my property. I have CASH!!
