AAA Plumbing also known as Anchor Home Services and perhaps other aliases advertises in the Yellow Pages. They claim low prices and no call out fee. When you phone they say after hours there is a call out fee of R295 if you don't accept their quote. Although this is contrary to their advert it seemed reasonable. I was sure the repair would not take long as it was an exposed pipe that had been ruptured at a joint just below the main house isolator valve. It took them over 2 hours to get someone there. As I arived home the I was called by their office and was told it would cost R1900 vat incl!!! I was shocked and I told them they were insain because the last time I used them they charged R1600 to dig a hole to fix a pipe 2 months ago, and asked how they arrived at this amount. They could not tell me but only could say that this was "Computer Generated" and if I did not accept I would be liable for the R295. I was not going to pay this amount and reluctantly paid the R295. I then asked the guys who were there if they could kindly turn my main water supply off, they looked at my and rudely said "No! " I said why, they said they werent allowed to. I urge people not to deal with them.
