Not honoring in warranty swap out

I booked in a faulty Seagate HDD which was in warranty - the warranty had just a couple of days left on it. The booking was done on the 26th September 2013 and the HDD warranty expired on the 01st Oct 13. I just received a phone call to advise me to collect my HDD as it's now out of warranty? What the? That's why I booked it in before the warranty expired!

Very bad service.
