Beware of Esquire

I have been with Esquire for some time and recently walked into a trap set by the company. On Saturday, 20 18 May 2013, I ordered an Acer Laptop, 4GB Ram module and 2 carry bags. I collected the items and later the same day found that the Kingston Ram module was not working on the laptop. I tested the RAM module on 2 other laptops and it still did not work.

On Monday 20 May 2013 I returned the module to Esquire and they tested it. They also found it not to be working. The IT Technician informed me and my client (who accompanied me) that he suspects that the RAM module may not be compatible with new laptop ranges. He said this as he received a large number of clients who had the exact same problem than me with the same module.

They replaced the module and gave me a new one, which also did not work.

The company then told me that there is nothing they could do and that I would need to replace it with a new module costing R400 more.

I find this unfair that the company knew about the issue and refused to alert clients to the fact. Yet, they allowed the sales of the RAM units without alerting users that it is not compatible with new laptops.
