British International Removals
Of goods and lack of proper packaging

Engaged BIR to pack and ship my household after being assured that they are honest and reliable. They also mention being members of the professional movers association so I took some comfort in the fact that we had some recourse should something go wrong.
Upon the container being packed it was then shipped to Australia and at that point Chess Removals subcontracted to take care of delivery. When the good finally arrived after one attempt at delivery as they had not bothered to check access we found numerous boxes missing and multiple items and furniture broken beyond any possible repair. As an example of the extreme negligence cast iron items were broken.
Some boxes once opened had the items removed from their containers like cell phones and watch containers, in other words the boxes arrived empty and had clearly been pilfered. Liqueur sports memorabilia electric power tools and a minihifi had also vanished in the so called missing boxes.
Upon reporting this to the company they claimed to lodge an investigation but found nothing wrong After contacting the PMA they advised they cant help as they can not enforce any findings and can only mediate. Total loss was R40K and stress.
