FLAWED 72 POINT JEEP CHECK TO HIDE BEHIND

I buy a 2010 demo Jeep from the CJD Centurion dealership in August 2011 without seeing the car as they are Jeep dealers. On receipt of the car, it has various problems including a hole in the spare tyre, missing rain sensor, incorrect windscreen etc. These problems are eventually resolved but 17 months later the battery fails and it is discovered that the car has a pirate battery in. This leaves me with a R5400 bill which should have been covered by the full maintenance plan had the car been fitted with the correct battery. I go back to the dealer for explanation but get the cold shoulder as the car had a 72 point check before I got it and the battery was confirmed as correct. Even though I point out that the 72 point check failed miserably if I consider all the other faults the vehicle had on receiving it, the dealer refuses to accept responsibility and refund my money.

I hear excuses ranging from that I should have picked up on the pirate part sooner and that the vehicle has been to other dealers where it could have been replaced as well.

Had the vehicle not been given to me with a host of problems for a car that actually belonged to Chrysler SA I would have budged!
