Kia Motors South Africa
R2900 for a key that I did not break!

Early last week I had to go to Kia Pinetown to request a replacement key. The blade of my key had mysteriously sheared off the flipping mechanism on the remote after I flipped the key open.
A lady attended to me and took my key for someone to take a look at. She told me that the key would not be covered by warranty as it looks as if I used the key to prise something open! Very nice of whoever it is to presume what I did with my key!
I then showed the damaged key to the parts agent and advised him that I did not require the whole transponder unit as that is still in working condition. An order was placed an paid for. On Friday I arrived to collect the order and find only a blade and pin. When I asked the agent about the flip mechanism he told me that was part of the transponder unit and would cost R2900!!!
Absolutely disgusted that it should cost that much for a piece of cheap metal, but also to have someone practically accuse me of doing something that I did not!
