We hired a car from Hertz. When we returned the car there was one small dent, no bigger than a 10c piece (like someone had pushed the bodywork in with their finger). I aknowledged that their was a small dent and it was stated on the inspection form that it was a small dent. Hertz then debited my account R1462.00. I had specifically told them that they were not to debit my account UNTILL the dispute was resolved.
When I returned the car and they pointed out the small dent, I said I would bring the car back once I had fixed the dent, as it was small enough to be done by a 'paintless dent removal' company as all car dealerships use when selling a vehicle. I am in the motor industry and use these paintless dent removal companies. This Dent would cost no more than R200.00 and 15mins to fix, for which they have charged me R1462.00.
I have sent countless e-mails trying to resolve the issue with Jacolize from Hertz and also requesting copies of the signed documents which she ignores and answers the select e-mails that she wishes to answer.
I have said that I am willing to pay a reasonable amount to have the car fixed.
