I hired JHB Movers for the transportation of my belongings from Cape Town to Johannesburg.
They were quick enough to supply an initial quote but after that response to emails occurred only after I called to ask whether they would respond to my email.
Their subcontracted movers (NOTE: they don't use their own vehicles) arrived 7.5 hrs earlier than the time provided for collection which made packing a mad rush. All the while we were pushed by the movers because they had so many more collections to do. The men were just grabbing whatever they saw and hauling.
Delivery was interrupted as JHB Movers had not paid their contracted movers, and I was initially told it's because I hadn't paid in full (which I had but the office staff had not checked their records). No apology there.
One item was not loaded due to the rush. Subsequent contact regarding this poor service by JHB Movers and the request to help get the missed item up have gone unanswered, no apologies. (One message to the person I dealt with, and one message directly to the managers!)
Then again I have paid in full (according to contract stipulations), why should the company bother?
Very sad. No recommendations from me.
