My husband and I bought a 2013 model Ford Kuga Titanium in June 2013 from McCarthy Ford corner of Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Lynwood Road, Pretoria East. We had an amazing Sales Person called Kobi, who went out of her way to ensure an excellent service from the day we walked in the dealership to the day we drove our Kuga home.
My husband was offered a job overseas 4 months later and we had to subsequently sell the Kuga and move. We went to the dealership where we bought the Kuga from as we thought we would get a competitive offer for a brand new car (5 months old, 12 000KM on the clock). We bought the Kuga for R420 000 and the Pre-Owned Vehicle Manager Morne Gouws, offered us R260 000-280 000 stating that it was a risk to buy such a new 2nd hand car and that he would struggle to sell it. Struggle to sell a brand new car which was in such high demand because production wasn't fast enough?!
We went on to sell the Kuga to a dealer in Bloemfontein for R355 000.
Morne Gouws literally tried to us over because he thought we were desperate. Disgusting business practice and I cannot recommend anyone to this particular dealership, as he has no business ethic whatsoever!!!
