Clutch was replaced by dealer in Upington, when delivery of vehicle was taken, vibration felt, complaint made to technician, technician diagnosed sudden vibration as gearbox fault, vehicle booked in on Monday, By Wednesday aftrernoon the vehicle was still not touched, due to deadlines vehicle was taken to gearbox repair centre that vw use, on test drive the gearbox technician immediately diagnosed the fault to be clutch related, removed gearbox and found pressure plate to be defective/have a broken part. VW dealer was contacted to come and inspect defective unit, after repeated attempts, they had a look at the part and the end result after many discusions through VW customer assist (not assist) the dealer refused to claim warranty on the part. VW customer assist say that VW South Africa has no say over there Franchises and, therfore warranties and workmanship can not be guaranteed. Might as well buy a Tata, they cover their parts and warranty. Our fleet consists of over 100 vehicles, no more will be Volkswagen.
