I bought a demo model 4 years ago. 3 months after the purchase my engine was moving and knocking against my car. The dealer said my one engine mounting was faulty and replaced it. A couple of months later the engine starting knocking again. The dealer said they couldn't find the fault. A private mechanic found that the dealer had put insulating tape around the bolt to stop the play in the collar of the engine mounting. My mechanic said the mounting is poorly designed. He put in a bigger bolt but the engine still knocks. When he has time my mechanic is going to put in a collapsible collar to stop the play in the collar. In the meantime I have to make a trip to the Northern Cape. Because my lovely Mazda 2 is not safe, I have to drive a 1999 Golf which appears is the safer option. My advice - don't buy a Mazda 2. Especially not from Barloworld Bruma
