Volkswagen has completely tried to rip me off but asking 6.5k for a battery and cambelt replacement.(R4800 for cambelt and R1800 for battery).
I refused and went elsewhere and was quoted R2300 for both. (THAT'S HALF THE PRICE, essentially they are quoting me for 2 cars)
HOW!?! Other than that VW are simply trying their luck and taking the out of their customers. These aren't Volkswagen specific parts. These are standard parts that be sourced from anywhere and fortunately for me, I am aware of this, but I think many who get quotes from Volkswagen fall for this and fork out thousands more rands than they should. Watch out people! Don't let corporate greed get the best of you.
