Mercedes-Benz South Africa
RiP Off

My Vito had a temperature light on - took it to NMI Pinetown who took a while to tell me that the loom had been eaten by rats. It took them 2 weeks to do the repair and 13 k later I was able to fetch my vehicle. The next day we did a 3 day road trip to P.E. The vehicle started up fine until left standing for a day. Called a mechanic who jump started at the cost of R250.00. I left messages with NMI MERC service desk - which they denied receiving. On our return I spoke to the service manager who booked it in to sort the exact same problem out that was blamed on rats! They had my vehicle for 2 days and removed the tracker they claimed was draining the battery - Cost R1300 Service/manager called me to advise that the mechanic said I needed a new battery - Cost R3650 for the battery and fitment R450. I took my vehicle to a battery center in Hillcrest who, under load, found the BATTERY absolutely fine! I asked how much for a new battery R1200 including fitment!
I put a call into NMI and told the person this saga and suggested management should be advised of this sort of Rip off as I have no confidence in using them ever again. That was 29th August 2013. I have yet to get a response.
