What use is a guarantee if you dont honour it

I had my fiat sienna's engine overhauled by the above company. Now the exact same problem arose again, the cambelt broke. On their documentation it states that it is guaranteed for 60 000km, which we have not yet driven with said vehicle since the service. Now the cambelt broke again and CMH is just pulling up their shoulders and state that the guarantee was only valid for one year. BUt this info is nowhere stated on their documentation.
