During the December holidays, my family and I were on our way back home and drove through Smithfield. I was quite heavily pregnant at the time so i needed to go to the toilet very often. We stopped at the Caltex garage in Smithfield and my mother and I went to the restroom. I don't mind paying to use facilities but if I am going to pay R2.00 to pee I expect there to atleast be toilet paper. There was no toilet paper, the restrooms basins were all either broken or leaking, the toilets were disgustingly filthy, there was no soap, and when we asked the staff for toilet paper, their excuse was that the manager wasn't there and he/she kept the toilet paper in their office and they were extremely rude. Seriously? If you are going to charge someone to pee atleast make sure the facilities are clean and hygienic (soap & water) and that there is toilet paper! where does the money go? Obviously not to maintain the facilities... Absolutely Disgusting facilities and Horrible attitudes!!!
