I bought a Santa-Fe 2.2 CRDI from Mossel Bay Motors on 24 April 2013. Leon Pienaar the salesman said I could not buy the car without a SA Warranty Bumper to Bumper for R12000.00. I told him I have my own insurance but he insisted and said as a discount on the car he will include it in the price, (3 witnesses). He, it was added onto the purchase price. He also about the thread on the tyres, said it could still do 10000km plus. A month later I had to replace it at a cost of R4000. A week later I had to replace one of the front bulbs. In the week of 7 July the clutch gave in, Hyundai quoted R28600. The BUMPER TO BUMPER 'warranty' was only prepared to pay R8000.00. Mosselbaai Motors washed their hands, refused to pay a cent, but they did give us an un-roadworthy car to drive with. In the end we had to pay! On 14 August Hyundai discovered a leak on the oil cooler, a further R4300. I phoned Mosselbaai Motors, and Tobie Douglas said to me "you have insurance, use it". SA Warrenty does not pay for oil coolers. Consumer Law says Mosselbaai Motors is responsible for the car for 6 months, but they refuse to take responsibility for a mechanically faulty car they sold to me.
