A TRAFFFIC OFFICER REMINDED ME THAT MY CAR LICENCE DISK EXPIRED IN FEB 2013.
I HAVE OWNED CARS FOR 20 YEARS AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE.
WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER HE HAD AN INCORRECT ADDRESS IN HIS SYSTEM AND CORRECTED IT AND APOLOGISED.
I DID NOT GET NOTICE OF THE RENEWAL.
I WENT TO THE LICENCING OFFICE AND PAID A FINE OF R450.
NOW THE DEALER REFUSES TO COMPENSATE ME AND ALSO DENIES HAVING THE INCORRECT ADDRESS.
I THEN CALLED BMW/MINI SOUTH AFRICA AND SENT THEM PROOF THAT THE DEALER HAS CAPTURED A CAPE TOWN AND JNB ADDRESS ON MY FINANCE APPLICATION.
THE DEALER STILL REFUTES THEIR RESPONSIBILITY.
THIS IS MY 4TH MINI AND I AM A VERY LOYAL CUSTOMER.
BMW/MINI SA HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER THEIR DEALERSHIPS. THEY ADMIT THE DEALER IS NOT BEING FAIR BUT CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.
THE SERVICE LEVELS ARE SHOCKING.
WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THEY TOOK MORE THAN 21 DAYS TO GIVE ME A NUMBER PLACE ETC SO I WAS FINED.
I HAVE THIS MINI FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND WENT IN OVER 8 TIMES FOR THE SAME COMPLAINT - THEY MAKE ALL KINDS OF EXCUSES, NEVER CHECKED THE CAR OUT PROPERLY, AT ONCE STAGE THEIR WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE - I HAD TO ASK THEM TO CHECK THIS.
AT THE MOMENT THERE ARE REPLACING THE ENGINE!!!
