My corolla had a 20v conversion done, ran a bearing knock, a month ago saved up enuf to fix it and took the car to JDM Worx, they advised me that purchasing a motor would be the safest option for the repair... Mike's place was said to be a good supplier of " low mileage import PERFORMANCE motors"
So bought a silver top 20v @ R7500 from them... Spent a further R5000 on parts and labour just to have the motor run a bearing knock on the dyno at which I was told the motor made 93 kw before it knocked, so the guys at JDM pulled the motor and returned it and I was told to add another R2000 and get the better black top 20v which I then did... Motor was put in tuned and then I was told by the guys at JDM that the motor could have something wrong with it as it only pushed 88kw... Then to the car as is the next day to Mikes and upon their test drive they claimed that there was nothing wrong... 4 days later while driving the car I ran another bearing knock... Took the car to mikes and now I'm being asked y I drove the car if I knew there was something wrong and that they wouldn't replace the motor... I am in the process of sueing them and will not advise anybody to use motors
