General Motors South Africa
GM unable to solve factory fault

After taking my car in for a service, the staff, especially Eugene (foreman) went out of his way to provide me with service. They went as far as contacting the factory and had representatives on-site to try and solve the issue, so no complaint against Eugene and the dealership.

On 20km/h the ABS unit on the vehicle resets and if not according to specification, puts the car into "limp" mode by reducing the amount of power the vehicle is capable of.By doing this, the fuel consumption goes up etc etc.

When completing the instructions from the factory, they said I could collect the vehicle. Only to drive 50m and the same problem occurs. Maybe its normal for a vehicle to have a solenoid come lose at 20km/h resulting in a replica gunshot sound in the engine...

Why can't GMSA not just authorise a part replacement as the vehicle is under warranty and the unit is definitely faulty? Why limit the dealership to provide us customers with dismal service? This after admitting to the dealership that it is a factory fault? GM South Africa does not even respond to complaints here.

To put the cherry on top, GMSA, asked me to take the vehicle in after logging a complaint with them.
