I bought a targa 10inch dvc slim woofer on saturday 15th June 2013 and installed it in my vehicle on Monday 17th June. I installed the sub correctly and only got to play it this morning 18th June. The amp I used on it is rated 2000 watts and the sub is rated 2500 watts. The amp gain is half and I listen to music at low volume. The sub played for about 15 minutes and then stopped. When I parked my car at work and checked on the sub, it's smelling burnt and the cone is stuck in place. I previously had an earthquake 350watt sub on the same amp without any hassle for over 2 years so it cannot be the amp or the connections. I've thrown the box away as I expected the speaker to last more than 15 minutes.
