I bought a Jazz 1.3 CVT last year and so far I am more than impress. Fuel consumption does vary obviously due to road conditions temperature winds and type of driving, but overall it is great. Every now and then I calculate the consumption when filling up and I have had at the lowest 4.9L/100Km and at highest 6.6, the average is usually around 5.6-5.8 and then I travel mostly suburban and not highway.
The space is phenomenal considering the size of the car, this is due to the great versatility in the back. You certainly won't compete in any quarter mile races with this car, but it is adequate for responsible traveling.
It is only going in for it's first service in a week or two, but so far I haven't had any niggles at all! The CVT transmission system is top, I just don't understand why this transmission isn't available on all models.
My Father has the first generation Jazz, it now has something like 220 000 (mostly in city) on the odometer and is still going perfectly, he went to Cape Town with it last year and it went and came up without the slightest problem. I expect to drive many many years with this fantastic car!
