On Sunday 15/12/2013 my family and I (9 of us in total) visited smith & wollensky. I could not believe the quality of the food offered. Firstly, there was a cream and spinach dish, this was so salty that neither I nor my family could eat it. Then there was the fried potato skins, this too was so salty. I then found an onion not only with the skin on it but the entire end (with root pieces) was not even cut off, this was just sliced as is and roasted and offered to its customers. The pineapple in the fruit salad still had all its thorns on, there was no attempt made to even remove some of the thorns, so to avoid bruising our tongues, the pineapples had to be wasted. Lastly, the malva pudding: I love my desserts but this was really inedible. The pudding itself had been burnt at the edges and the texture was most horrible. it was nothing like a malva pudding, it was extremely dense and really did not taste very nice. I could not eat this at all. We could hardly enjoy the carvery special as the food was unpleasant. I will never go back to Smith and Wollensky nor recommend anyone else to go there. Don't waste your money: I spent close to a R1 000 on food that is appauling.
