Circus Circus
Comment

I had lunch with my sister and her friend at Circus Circus Gateway on Saturday 9 Nov 2013. The food was fine, but after a few minutes of eating the friend noticed her plate was dirty underneath. I saw it was gravelly, sticky, brown and all disgusting. I almost gagged as I handed it back to her, shocked when I noticed the top, where there was no food, looked like it had been wiped with a dirty cloth!
We expressed our disgust to the host, also noticing and mentioning my sister's dirty plate. The host discounted the first meal and gave her a takeaway as our friend understandably refused another plate of food from their kitchen.
Up until then, I was fine. We were discontent, they fixed it.
What infuriated and amazed me was that as the host walked away with the plate, the GENERAL MANAGER felt it appropriate to turn and follow the host ROLLING HIS EYES and mutter: "Black people...".
What's his point? Am I not supposed to complain about being served on a filthy plate because I'm Black?
Was I supposed to understand that their dishwasher was broken because I'm Black? Would he have continued eating, as he too was Black? Foreign, but Black. Circus Circus management training, I must assume.
