Nando's advertising - brilliant, clever, controversial - the food... bland, inedible and expensive for the offering.
On the 31 October 2013 @ 17h30 I ordered a whole chicken, jumbo chips and perinnaise sauce at a cost of R149.70.plus a tip of R10! (Did not realize that I was already charged R16.00 for delivery). Food arrived at 18h50.
The brown paper bag was soaked, the chicken (well the baby chicken) was ice cold and slimy. You advertise your chicken as flame grilled?
I can assure you, this baby chicken was par boiled for an hour, dipped in a barrel of oil and dropped on a not so hot grill. It was inedible and tasteless and landed up in the dustbin. (not fit for consumption). The jumbo chips had to warmed in the microwave and the quantity insufficient to feed more than one person. The perinnaise sauce was bitter and did not taste like mayo or peri peri.
To add insult to injury I get told by your complaints department that the complaint will take 48 hours to resolve and unless I retrieve the 'chicken' from the dustbin Nando's will not refund me!!! You are more than welcome to come and dig in my outside bin and retrieve the chicken - I will not be. SHOCKING!!
