From the outset, let me state that I'm not a big fan of Spur. For me, the food is OK but not great, the chaos and noise is intolerable, and I could well do without it... but it is what it is, and we have a four year-old who absolutely loves it, so we're there quite a lot.
We were at the Ottawa Creek Spur in Karaglen, Edenvale on Tuesday evening and discovered that there were a bunch of senior school kids helping out the waiting staff in order to raise money for their school.
OK, so service was a little slower, and the place was a little more disorganized, but the feeling of the place was really great. The kids enjoyed it, and the staff embraced the project. It's so good to see a large company getting down to do something for the community that supports it.
I think it is a great initiative, and deserves the highest accolades and encouragement. Well done, Spur Karaglen!
