I just had lunch with my dad at the Engen Highveld branch in Centurion, and I must say that Steers as a brand has gone backwards more and more each time I've gone back to eat there. Why I decide to order food there, I don't know.
First of all, the prices go up every time i go there. Just a steer burger, rib burger special and 2 cokes costs almost R100. That's insane!
Second of all, the food was horrible. The steer burger looked like a streetwise burger at KFC. The patty was smaller and thinner than the slice tomato that was on it, the bun was toasted which means the buns are old, and there was hardly any sauce on the burger as well. My dad had to put mustard on it for some flavor. Then for my rib burger special I asked for crispy chips, which I got 10 of in the plate. I sent it back and got an extra 3 chips.
After eating it, I told the manager on duty that the food was terrible and that Steers as a brand is going downhill, and all he did was raise his arms at me.
And the worst is that the Steers slogan is "flame grilled", but the patties are pre-made like McDonalds.
Sort out your standards or drop the ridiculous prices.
