Moyo (Eden on the Bay) as a backdoor which is used as a thoroughfare by its staff. It has a broken hinge and slams shut every time, creating noise for the tenants who live in our complex. I spoke to the manager (Lisa?) about this - showed her the broken door - and she said she would get it fixed. It's now almost 6 months afterwards, and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.
She told me that it was kept locked for security - which is not true since it can slam shut ten times in ten minutes (yes, I counted) and this can continue until past midnight on some days. So apart from the blatant to my face, this open, unlocked door is essentially an invitation for anyone to rob Moyo through an unattended backdoor. Not only is this a security risk for the residents - whom Moyo seems to ignore, yet we are also at risk by this lack of security - but its also creates serious noise pollution - another crime that this Moyo branch is guilty of.
Fix the slamming door, Moyo. Don't give excuses - don't blame building management. Nothing takes six months to fix. Just hire a repair man and pay the R250 an hour that he will charge you. I'm sure you can afford it.
