On the 15 June 2013 (Saturday) a friend and I went for breakfast at the Mugg and Bean located in Irene Mall (Centurion). We had ordered a pot of tea each and then decided to have the chicken and mushroom pie. The food was delivered on time. While eating my friend could see a hair in the pie, we immediately called the manager who suggested that it was the mushroom used, we requested to see the mushroom. While waiting to see the mushroom I decided to inspect my pie, to my disgust I found a curly hair in my pie. The manager returned after 15 minutes with the so called hairy mushroom however when I showed him the curly hair found in my pie, he had to admit that it was hair. We had lost our apetite at this stage and requested to leave however the manager insisted we pay for the tea. We were so shocked by the poor service and the health and safety practices at the restuarant that it is vital we report the incident. We hope Mugg and Bean employ more stricter conditions in their kitchens and improve on their customer service.
