Does the public know what they are actually paying for when they take out the Motor Mend policies. Of the total premium only 30% is for the actual cover. The other 70% is for admin, comm and pre-delivery fees. I took our 2 policies in Feb 2013 because the vehicle that I bought had high mileage and it was recommended by the dealer. I paid R 2795.00 for the 1 and R 4950.00 for the 2nd one. I decided to cancel both policies in April because it was no value for money. They agreed to refund me. After I send a email to Samashan Subramoney I was informed that they only refunding me R 2643.96. This is a absolute joke. They keeping back the admin fees and a amount of R 2150 for inspection fees. 2 Inspection fees for 1 vehicle. They also don't want to cancel my policies from inception even if there was no claims. We are talking of 2 months later. Somebody need to investigate this. I can't believe that this kind of rip off can be allowed in the industry. Please dealers don't sell this to the public and banks plse don't finance this. I'm sure I will get some sort of apologetic email regarding this but it doesn't mean anything. Maybe Carte Blance must be informed about this.
