I purchased a vehicle on the 12th of september. when signing the vehicle finance forms with the dealer, included in the deal was a mechanical warranty which i added on because of the type of vehicle i was purchasing, anything can happen. as understood, the warranty will be effective immediately. in the beginning of november 2012 the car started to show some signs of fault with either the turbo, injectors, boost pipes or fuel pump as the car did not perform as it should. i then called absa only to find out i didnt exist on their system, i then took the car to a rmi approved repairer where the fault was found and they could not claim because i did not exist, ive called in, sent my policy docs to absa, got the dealer to sort it out, spent hours on the phone and still i do not exist, i drive this car everyday! and the problem is getting worse! ivve had to pull over numerous times on the highway as the car cuts off while driving, not only is this dangerous but embarrassing as the car is not cheap! absa is absolutely useless, and the warranty has cost me alot of money but all it is to me is a piece of paper as they do not recognize me or any of the details i provide of myself or the vehicle
