Why loan payout take so long

Applied for a loan and recieved sms on the 04/04/2013 that tghe loan is approved and payout is pending. On the 07/04/2013 contacted customer centre as payout was not made yet to my banking accound and was suprised to be told payout takes two to three weeks. Why they doing this becasue when you apply for a loan you need money in that period and not 2 to 3 weeks late
