I have in the past two weeks been harassed with calls and sms's from ABSA bank regarding payment for my credit card. I have asked each and every person who have called me to contact me at a convenient time in the afternoon to discuss the matter as I do not want to discuss my personal finances in front of my co-workers in our office. ( I requested them to call at 1pm when I can talk)
Each time they called me (last week and this week) at inconvenient times, none of them have made any effort to follow my request and have persued with calls which has made me incredibly stressed. The last women who called spoke like a debt collecter, inconsiderate, rude and unhelpful.
The reason for their harassment is apparently that I paid short on my account, which I can understand and have informed them I will correct pay day this month, but still they continue to call and sms as if my words fall onto deaf ears. I have never ran away from payment to the bank and dont deserve this treatment.
I have lodged a complaint to [Email Removed], however it does not seem to have helped.
I find it extremely sad that a bank feels the need to bully people
