On the 24th January 2011 I tragically lost my son who passed away without having written a will. It took me almost 6 months to convince Standard Bank to freeze his account. It was just accruing bank charges and they were most probably the only claimants against the estate anyway. I gave them a death certificate and an affidavit explaining the cercumstances. At least once every two weeks I recieve a call asking to speak to my son??? It has been handed over to lawyers employed by Standard Bank to collect the debt. I have explained to them and sent them a death certificate, to no avail. They too still call and send lawyers letters of demand. Again this morning I get a call from Standard Bank asking to speak to my son. Does any one at Standard Bank understand the trauma of these calls??? Please I beg you with tears in my eyes (believe me every call you make brings unbelievable pain to my heart) do something wich part do you not understand, niether yourselves or I can talk to him...
