Since my last query the situation has gotten worse. My daughters loan contract was sitting at standard bank westgate branch for I don't know how long. Clinton Klaaste was assigned to our query and from the outset he was not transparent with us. At the initial signing of the loan Clinton did not tell us that the money was only for tuition and books. His initial response was that the bank would make the payments and the rest of the money will be transferred into the surety's account. 7days after the loan was signed and her tuition and book fees paid we inquired about what happens to the remaining money. After several emails with no reply I went to the westgate branch. Only after speaking to the business manager Jeanine Beukes did Clinton come back to us telling us that the amount would not be paid to us. This shows double standards as their website clearly indicates that the student loan can be used for tuition, books, EQUIPMENT and accommodation. I can clearly see that standard bank has incompetent, unreliable employees who don't follow systems, processes and protocols. This has cost me my time, my money, days off work and numerous visits to the bank to sort this out.
