Good afternoon, I have a personal loan with Atlas Finance. I've been dealing with them for years and have never had an issue. They help me - I pay them - and we don't have an issue - UNTIL NOW. They deducted their first payment as agreed to on 20th December 2022 when my salary went in. Then they deducted another payment on 22nd December 2022.
I have followed all the correct steps. I sent them my bank statement, along with a screenshot of the payment being illegally deducted. My bank cannot reverse it because they mark their debits as NOT DISPUTABLE so the bank can't touch it. This is ridiculous! THIS IS ILLEGAL!
I'm a single parent with 5yr old twins who start school in January. I need to buy uniforms!
It's Christmas and I have no groceries for my family!
My internet connection cannot be paid on time which means that I can't work from home.
I can't go work in the office as Atlas Finance has left me with R3 in my account
so babysitter cannot be paid and I don't have travelling to get to and from work.
I've been into the Wynberg branch in Cape Town. There is absolutely no urgency in getting this issue resolved. They told me that there's a backlog of refunds to be processed. How is that my problem? As quick as they were able to ILLEGALLY go back into my account once they received their payment, they should be just as quick to refund the money.
When you take a loan from them they give you a card. What is stopping them from transferring it to the card?
I'm absolutely at my wits end. My main concern is my work and MY CHILDREN!!!
Can someone please assist urgently?
