Incorrect internet payment

On 31/01/2013 I made a payment via eft, I took the payment as successful because the money went off my account but I then later learned the payment failed and the money was not in my account. When I went to absa to find out what happened they said they have no record of this and that they don't take responsibility for anything that happens with an internet payment, then I showed them it's appears on my statements. They said I made the payment to the wrong beneficiary. This is a beneficiary that I have deleted long ago and does not appear on my list of beneficiaries. So it is an error on absa' s side. But why does absa have such an attitude about it? Why did that happen? Why can't they say sorry and just fix it instead of telling me they don't take responsibility for stuff like this, it is an error on absa's side.
