I recently got a what-if quote from liberty for early exit fees for a Liberty RA and was absolutely disgusted by the penalties that will be levied if I do indeed go ahead and exit. I'll see a reduction in my current investment value by a whopping 25% if I do decide on the exit. This excessively high exit fee is just another way for Liberty to rip off their customers. Surely it cant be legal to levy such high fees especially when people are trying to save up for their retirement!!! I recently found out that Discovery RA's have a sliding scale when it comes to exit fees and are dependant on the amount of time one remains invested in the RA. Even more shocking is that Discovery RA's early exit fees are around 13% if one intends to exit the RA in the first year and reduces to 3% in the 6th year, which is way way way less than the 25% exit fee of Liberty even though I've remained invested in the RA for the past 6 years. Absolutely disgusted!!
