In October 2013 I was booked off work for the remainder of 2013. I received letters to this effect from two medical professionals, which I then forwarded to Altrisk via my insurance broker, on 21/10/2013, in order to claim from my Income Protection/Disability Policy for November and December 2013. From the start Altrisk has delayed the process, asking me to acquire additional reports / letters from the same doctors. Altrisk further requested contact details of one of my past doctors (who I last saw in 2006/2007), in order to gain more background information. This doctor had apparently emigrated some time ago, so this has put a halt on my claim! Contact details were requested for this doctor in November 2013 - if Altrisk cannot get hold of this doctor, surely they should process my claim without this info?!? They requested an additional doctor's report in November, which I received from my doctor and sent through to them, yet to date they have still marked this claim requirement as OUTSTANDING!! I am unhappy with the way in which Altrisk handles their claims and at this stage will not recommend anyone I know to take out policies with them, despite their competitive rates.
