We moved over to Wesbank fleet managment from standard Garage cards over 2 years ago. As we were informed it was a pro active system and would stop any pertol / minimize it by not allowing a driver to purchase petrol if there was inadequate consumption on the vehicle. So confident of this I never checked the system until Dec 2013. The only reason this happened was because I received a petrol bill for 3 vehicles equating to over R47 000.00. I was stunned as the vehicles had hardly been used. When I looked into this I discovered that one of the vehicles in question had beeen filling up after doing as little as 20km travel.
I then apprached Wesbank about this as I am paying for a service and the least they could have done was contact me as soon as there was a discreptancy on the consumption. The vehicles in question consumption ranged from 50L - 100L per 100KM. When I raised this to Wesbank about the incorrect sale of the product they informed me that there was a disclaimer against any incorrect sale of their products and also also could not answer me as to why they didn't notify me. In essance this system allowed the drivers free reign & unlimited spend with the garage cards!
